With the introduction of the Blacklist Rule on May 1st, 2011, customers can buy either unlocked phones distributed by the manufacturers or phones from overseas and subscribe for the service carrier they want.

 

Following the introduction of ‘SIMple Charge’ which is tagged with no requirement of base plan or subscription fee and ‘SIMple Saving’ which requires no contract, KT introduces ‘SIMple Discount’ on May 31st, 2011, by which customers who purchased unlocked phones can enjoy the same price discounts that are offered to the existing subscribers. What you will see below is a detailed introduction of ‘olleh SIMple’ in which customers can subscribe for KT service plan separately with their unlocked phones regardless of their brands. ^^

 

What is the ‘Device Self-purchasing Rule’?

The rule allows the unregistered phones to a service carrier to access network and place a call.

 

What gives?

With a KT USIM, you can buy a service plan at KT with one of the unlocked phones distributed by domestic manufacturers or with other phones you purchased from overseas.

“I have my phone sleeping in the closet.” “My plan at another service carrier has just expired--now I miss the price discount.” “My uncle bought me a new phone but I haven’t yet subscribed to any plan.”

 

Yes, you can use your phone after subscribing to a service plan in KT.

KT has prepared three new SIMple service plans for the customers who wish to use their own phones after buying a USIM.

                                                                                           

With all but USIM, using your device has never been SIMpler —olleh SIMple!

 

For any type of device you have, you can subscribe to the following service plans just with USIM.

 

[SIMple Charge]

Just as the transportation card, you can recharge desired amount of money with the SIMple Charge plan. No subscription fee, base plan or contract is required, and you can talk with other olleh mobile users as long as the charged amount allows.

 

[SIMple Saving]

It is a service in which 20 % of the monthly paid amount is saved as points, so that you can use them when you buy a new phone.

 

[SIMple Discount]

If you buy one year or two year contract, you will get a partial discount of your monthly bill. Subscription is available beginning from May 31st, 2011.

 

 

If you have one of the phones listed below, you can subscribe to the plan.

 

-olleh phones, 3G phones with a SHOW logo printed on them, LTE phones

-SK Telecom 3G phones (Valid for the models released after July 2008. Some models do not support MMS function), SK Telecom LTE phones

-Subscriptions not open to LG U+ phones

-Should you have no device, you can subscribe to the service after buying an unlocked phone or olleh Green Phone at olleh.com.

 

*Note: You need a LTE phone as well as a LTE USIM if you want to subscribe to KT’s LTE service plan. The service is open to 3G phones released by SK Telecom but not to LTE phones.

 

 

1.     olleh SIMple Charge, rechargeable just as the transportation card

 

What is olleh SIMple Charge?

It is a service plan that you can charge as much money as you want to call, just like the transportation card.

The charged amount will be deducted as you place calls or send messages.

 

 

It is simple and affordable!

 

There is no requirement for subscription fee, base plan or contract.

It provides long call minutes and allows subscribers to call other olleh mobile users depending on the charged amount.

You can recharge your plan easily using various methods.

2.     Save up your points with olleh SIMple Saving

 

What is olleh SIMple Saving?

Up to 20% of your monthly paid bill is saved up as points that you can use when you buy your next phone.

 

Points are saved as much as you pay!

Up to 20% of your monthly paid bill including base plan, domestic call and data usage is saved every month. The maximum amount of saved points is capped at 150,000 won.

 

Pay no cash; buy your new phone with points.

The saved SIMple points can be used when you buy a new phone. If the total amount of point exceeds the price of the new phone, the difference is paid as a discounted bill.

 

Be reminded of the following limitations!

Regarding MMS or other specific services offered only by certain competing carriers, phones released by other service carriers can sometimes stumble upon a glitch or experience incomplete service. And KT points are not saved for non-activated or suspended phones.

Q. How long can I use the service?

A. KT’s prepaid service plan lasts 2 to 2.4 times longer than that of competing carriers. If you charged, say, 50,000 won, you may not need to rush to use the remaining money or charge an unnecessarily excessive amount, since the charged amount would not be depleted at least for a year.

Q. What is the voice call between olleh mobile users?

A. The service allows subscribers to place voice calls among olleh mobile users. If you use up your charged money on the voice call alone, you can talk up to 337 minutes including the complimentary voice call minutes. Don’t forget this special complimentary voice call minutes when you charge either 30,000 won or 50,000 won.

Q. How do I charge my prepaid plan?

A. You don’t have to charge every time you used up your charged amount since it automatically recharges your prepaid plan. KT recharges your plan on your desired date every month, or it automatically recharges your plan whenever the charged money is depleted down to a certain amount. Or you can recharge your plan at olleh.com, mobile customer center, ARS (1500) and 3,000 olleh stores up and running nationwide.

Q. What are the benefits of SIMple Saving?

A. You can use the service without worrying about the service period since you are not tied to contract. And you can always use your saved points.

A. Points are saved even for a short use of the service.

A. You can buy the phone you’ve been waiting for at an affordable price by paying SIMple points instead of cash. The upper limit of saved points is 150,000 won pending the plan.

Q. I am a subscriber of KT device. Can I subscribe to the SIMple discount as well?

A. Existing subscribers can also subscribe to the SIMple Discount plan. Customers who cannot enjoy discounted price because their contract has expired or they have activated used phones can also enjoy the discounted price by subscribing to the SIMple Discount plan.

 

Q. Can I change my plan while I am using the SIMple Discount?

A. Yes, you can always change your plan within the SIMple Discount service scheme. However, if you change it to a plan other than SIMple Discount, the discount is no more valid. Please be reminded that you need to cancel SIMple Discount first to subscribe to some restricted service plans. Additionally, if you change your plan before the monthly billing date, 10% will be discounted from the bill. For instance, if you changed your plan on the 16th, the day 1 through 15 will be charged according to the previous rate, while the day 16 through the last day of the month according to the new rate.
